There no evidence that these caves related to Pandavas of Mahabharata.
Triambakeshwar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga is about 30 kilometers away from Nasik. It is the sores of river Godavari. Kumbha Mela is held in Triambakeshwar in every 12 years when the planet Guru or Jupeter enters the Simha Rashi. So it is popularly known as “Simhastha Kumba” Kumbha Mela is one of the largest religious fares of Indian subcontinent. Devotees, saints gather in massive numbers. They take holy bath in river Godavari and perform ritual and pay respect to their ancestors. Tourists from every corner of the world come to Nashik during Kumba Mela for being spectator this great celebration of Hinduism. During that time extra facilities of accommodation and safety are made by Government of Maharashtra and Local bodies of Nashik city. The next Kumbh Mela will be held in the year 2027.
